Chef Patricia Marques has always loved the pastry and baking arts, a talent she inherited from her family in Angola. From a young age, she moved to Holland and decided that she had to pursue what she was naturally gifted at and her little girl dream of becoming a renowned Pastry Chef.
She knew the work would be hard but seeing the smile on people’s faces whilst trying her cakes, desserts or chocolates was precious- she also knew her son Marcello, her “North Star” was her biggest fan and depended on her.
So armed with determination and passion she went and enrolled at multiple Pastry schools and completed several courses on different pastry elements such as the creation of sugar, cake designing and so on.
In 2016, she moved to the UK to expand her brand, grow the Secrettaart brand and marvel the British public.
Chef Patricia has worked in many fine restaurants in the UK including Fratelli and many others. She owned a Kiosk in one of the biggest malls in Newcastle and recently a successful shop at the Stack. Throughout she continued to invest in her development and training with many renowned chefs who helped to refine her skills and creativity.
Always excited about the goodness of food, Chef Patricia volunteers her time and efforts to support cancer research and other local initiatives. Her secret is the love she feels by imagining her beloved customer’s reactions when they experience the unique taste of her pastries and chocolates.
